Big Red Pumpkin Patch is Big Red’s Ranch’s most popular annual event, welcoming more than 1,700 guests per day across six sold-out weekends. I led the event’s visual identity, print design, marketing, environmental design, and on-site branding. I also served as the lead photographer and videographer, managing the social media to showcase the experience and help grow the ranch’s online community. The goal was to design a cohesive fall identity that felt warm, family-focused, and full of seasonal charm.
I created a refreshed fall event logo and detailed illustrated map to help families navigate the ranch and discover all the attractions. The design balanced clarity and playfulness, using earthy textures, hand-drawn illustrations, and bold fall tones to bring the ranch’s layout to life both in print and digital formats.
From flyers to volunteer recruitment posters, I designed cohesive print materials that reflected the warmth of the event. QR codes were integrated for quick access to ticketing and sign-up forms, connecting print and digital marketing efforts seamlessly. Animated social media posters and story ads were designed to promote ticket sales and volunteer sign-ups. These featured motion graphics, photography, and hand-drawn fall elements that highlighted the event’s family-friendly atmosphere. The campaign played a key role in helping all six event days sell out ahead of time and ensuring we had enough volunteers to run the event.
To encourage guests explore all parts of the 60-acre ranch, I created a Scavenger Hunt as a family activity that guided visitors through the main attractions spread across the property. Those who completed the hunt earned a special illustrated pin as a keepsake. The scavenger hunt became a favorite among families and couples, encouraging exploration and engagement throughout the event.

I also designed Pumpkin Bucks, a custom one-dollar event currency printed on textured paper. Each event ticket included one Pumpkin Buck, which guests could redeem toward their pumpkin purchase, serving as both a marketing incentive and a fun souvenir.
Event visuals included outdoor advertising, digital webpage ticket buttons, wayfinding signage, staff badges, Specialty VIP Passes and Vendor Passes, and on-site posters.
I designed the “There’s No Place Like Big Red’s Ranch” graphic as part of a Wizard of Oz-inspired photo op near the main entrance. The vibrant, storybook-style design tied the fall theme to a sense of wonder and nostalgia, quickly becoming one of the most-photographed spots of the season.
I designed and decorated a series of themed trails to create immersive family experiences. Each trail offered unique photo opportunities and interactive elements that encouraged guests to explore and enjoy our trails.
The Wild West Trail featured a rustic, family-friendly aesthetic that blended naturally with the ranch environment. I designed the trail signage, photo props, and games, including a lasso toss and potato shooter challenge. Each element was installed to feel authentic and playful, capturing the spirit of a frontier-style adventure.

The Fairy Tale Trail celebrated fantasy and imagination, bringing classic storybook elements to life within a cozy fall setting. I designed the trail signage, props, and decorative displays, including a large-scale castle photo op and smaller interactive scenes inspired by fairy tales. The trail invited families to explore, pose for photos, and experience a bit of magic together.
