Big Red’s Ranch Summer Camp is where creativity and outdoor adventure come together. Each summer, campers earn collectible pins by participating in  activities that build confidence and teamwork. My role was to bring these experiences to life visually, creating everything from a collectible pin system to interactive scavenger hunts, environmental graphics, webpages, advertisments, photography, daily camp videos, and themed branding for each summer’s camp experience. The goal was to make every design element feel exciting and meaningful to the kids, while giving staff tools to stay organized and engaged throughout camp.
I created a comprehensive system of camp pins to recognize camper achievements and make every activity feel like an adventure. Each pin represents a specific camp area or activity, such as archery, swimming, and canoeing. The collection also includes special character pins representing animals at the ranch, like Maple and Mocha (the ranch dogs) and Legend the horse, as well as rare pins for achievements and good behvior throughout the week.
To keep things organized and running smoothly, I developed a printed Pin Guide and wall-mounted organizer system, ensuring staff could track and distribute pins consistently. Together, these elements turned pin collecting into one of the most beloved parts of camp, creating a tangible way for kids to celebrate growth, friendship, and fun.
I designed multiple web pages dedicated to the various camp experiences Big Red offered throughout the summer. This included the day camps for the ranch in San Benito, Texas; the day camps at Brand Christian Camp in Mission, Texas; and the Overnight Camp in Mission, Texas.
Each webpage emphasized clarity, accessibility, and excitement, helping families learn about schedules, registration, and camp activities in a friendly, welcoming layout consistent with the Big Red’s Ranch visual identity.
To make exploration more engaging, I designed several interactive games that guided campers through the ranch’s nature trails, blending environmental graphics, print materials, and physical interaction to turn simple walks into immersive adventures.

- The Bigfoot Scavenger Hunt: A storytelling-based activity where campers searched for clues hidden along the Bigfoot Trail at Big Red's Ranch used in both summer camp and field trips.

- The Big Red Maze: A color-coded trail maze experience with custom-shaped hole punches for each hidden checkpoint (star, butterfly, palm tree, etc.), used in summer camps, field trips, and seasonal family events.

Every summer brings a new fun, immersive theme, complete with its own logo, color palette, and achievement pin.
Dino Camp brought prehistoric adventure and valuable life lessons together under the theme “Facing Giants, Finding Courage.” At the center of the camp’s visual identity was Timmy, the small but brave dinosaur summer mascot, shown looking up at a towering T-Rex in the logo. Timmy was a reminder that bravery isn’t about being the biggest or strongest, but about showing up with heart and inner-courage. Each day, the team that won the previous day’s challenge earned the honor of carrying the Timmy plush with them, reinforcing teamwork and perseverance.
I designed a full set of personalized dinosaur pins for interns and staff, each representing their favorite dinosaur or a unique trait specific to them. Throughout the week, campers could be rewarded these collectible pins by staff members.
Rise Camp centered on the theme “A Hero’s Journey,” encouraging campers to discover their bravery and purpose through life's journey and challenges. The visual identity used cool sky-inspired blues and soft whites to represent hope, clarity, and transformation. The camp logo featured an owl with outstretched wings, becoming a symbol of wisdom, strength, and guidance. The design was brought to life as an animated visual, where the owl gracefully rises into flight at the end of each morning rally countdown. This animation set the tone for the day, reminding campers that every morning was a new opportunity to rise above fear and doubt.
In addition to my design work, I served as the camp’s videographer and photographer throughout the summer. Each day, I captured photos and video clips of campers, staff, and activities to document the energy and heart of Big Red’s Ranch. After camp hours, I edited and uploaded daily highlight videos and photos to social media, giving parents a window into what their children experienced that day and helping build trust and transparency with families. These daily recaps were also played at each morning rally, allowing campers to relive their favorite moments and celebrate the previous day’s adventures. Every week’s video included a thank-you segment highlighting our primary camp sponsor, strengthening our community relationships.

The video above is a feature video created for our sponsor Las Huellas to showcase at their annual banquet. The ongoing photography and video work played a key role in the ranch’s marketing success, driving social media engagement and helping each summer’s registration fill to capacity.
